As an alternative to the factory Audi R8 GT Alcantara Bucket Seats that are only available in Europe, we reupholstered the Sparco EVO 2 Racing Seats in leather and diamond stitched alcantara to match the R8's luxurious interior and mounted it on our GMG R8 seat base

GMG Audi R8 Seat Base for Aftermarket Racing Seats





The GMG Racing Audi R8 seat base utilizes the factory seat mounting provisions and provide a low-profile, flat surface for mounting aftermarket racing seats. The seat base is specific to the Audi R8 and are compatible with racing seats from leading manufacturers such as Sparco, Recaro, or Sabelt race seats, in both 12" and 14" wide frame sizes.

Unlike off the shelf seat bases from other manufacturers, the GMG Racing seatbase presents a solution to install the seats with lowest profile with the height of only 0.4375". The lower height achieved by the GMG Racing seat base will help position the driver's head to be lower than the top of the vehicle’s roll bar and maintain clearance from the headliner as well as giving additional helmet room. For easy installation, provisions for 12" and 14" wide seats are pre-drilled and tapped; with its precision CNC design, the provisions are perfectly parallel for smooth operation of the seat sliders.

To provide a strong flex-free mount, the GMG Racing seat base is constructed with 1/4" thick laser cut steel and features an attractive pocketed design for weight savings. In addition to the mounting holes provided for standard bolt-on installation, the GMG Racing base has a wide metal platform to allow custom mounting of side mounts direct to the base (drilling required). The seat base also feature threaded holes to directly mount 6 harnesses using SAE approved 7/16x20 hardware without drilling through the floor pan; to accommodate different driver heights, there are multiple locations. The base is powder coated in a black finish.

In order to properly install racing seats in your vehicle, you will need one (1) of each of the following, per seat:

*The Track Set allows for forward and backward adjustment of the seat

The GMG Racing Audi R8 Roll Bar is strong and versatile for both street and track use. Like all of our roll bar models, the GMG R8 bolt-in roll bar features US Made 4130 Chrome-Moly Tubing that has been TIG welded and normalized for superior strength and rigidity. To accommodate taller drivers, the GMG R8 bolt-in rollbar also allows the seats to fully slide back and offer more leg room.

For spirited driving and weekend track events, this bolt-in rollbar is definitely a good investment for increased safety without sacrificing versatility.

About the RS Pro Line


The RS Pro line offers the best high performance club sport damper available today. Combining the best aspects of our RS and 2-way racing damper, the RS Pro gives the owner ultimate suspension tuning ability while maintaining compliance for driving on public roads. A monotube double adjustable damper with adjustable gas pressure, the RS Pro offers an increased adjustment range allowing the user to tune the car to their needs further. The RS Pro is available as a complete kit with springs and mounting hardware.

Taking club sport performance to the next level, the RS Pro has a remote canister with a digressive blow off system. Digressive blow off allows for a stiff compression valving while maintaining smooth response. The result is a damper that provides ultra solid platform with smooth bump compliance. JRZ standard 22mm piston rods maximize flow to the blow off valve response to great chassis control without using a high spring rate. To customize track to track setups and tailor the chassis to the JRZ RS Pro has an extra large adjustment range. Each adjustment is designed to be an even step giving you predictability when making changes.


The JRZ dampers are a direct replacement – double adjustable damper which works with all road going R8’s that are used on the street and on the track.

RARE 1995 BMW E36M3 Lightweight at GMG Racing

The 1995 M3 Lightweight (BMW NA model code 9520) was produced between 8/95 through 10/95. A small quantity of these M3 LTWs were produced, aimed at the performance purist and/or active competitor. This street-legal model (as delivered to the dealership) eliminated several comfort and convenience items for weight reduction purposes, which were normally found on standard M3 models. The M3 lightweight came with several performance upgrades based on the European M3 GT homologation series for worldwide GT racing. The U.S. models were homologated for the IMSA series and because of strict D.O.T. laws; they had to be sold with all the “go-fast” parts in the trunk. Also, it has been rumored that the motors for these cars were handpicked off of the assembly line and the highest output and lightest motors were set aside for the CSL/LTW program.

Unfortunately, many of these cars went to pro race teams or club racers and very few unmolested examples remain. Estimates of this number is around 2-dozen examples.

The GMG RSR roll bar features a 2 piece design and 1.5” diameter 4130 chrome-moly tubing that has been meticulously TIG welded for superior strength and rigidity. The 2 piece design allows the bar to be mounted to the front seat belt mounts and to the rear strut towers (stronger mounting points) whereas the factory Tequipment bar mounts only to the front and rear seatbelt mounts. Bolt-in installation is accomplished by using Inner Diameter Tube Clamps that are CNC turned and milled for a precise fit. These unique joints allow us to eliminate the more traditional slip fit tubes with an unsightly through-bolt and nut. This design does not only provide superior protection but it also stiffens the chassis, improving the responsiveness and handling of vehicle, and allows for ease of installation.

To accommodate taller drivers, the GMG RSR bolt-in roll bar also allows the seats to slide further back and offer more leg room. A common problem of the factory Tequipment roll bar is that it requires the use of 1-piece fixed back GT3 style seats for improved leg room. For taller drivers, our GMG RSR Roll bar solves this problem. The GMG bolt-in roll bar is a good investment for increased safety for spirited driving and weekend track events without sacrificing versatility.
