Nissan Skyline GT-R Meet at Stillen Featuring Steve Millen's IMSA 300ZX
Among a few tuners on this side of the Pacific Ocean that are at the forefront of the research and developement for aftermarket products for the new Nissan R35 GT-R is Stillen Motorsports - a world renowned tuner with a deep motorsports heritage and vast amount of experience and knowledge with Nissan vehicles. The founder of the company, Steve Millen, have professionally raced the Twin Turbo Nissan 300zx in the early 1990s in the IMSA league in which he dominated the series.
I visited Stillen Motorsports in Santa Ana, California, early morning this Saturday to snap some pictures of the Nissan GT-R mini-meet that has been hosted there monthly. The turnout was small with a few cars but it was definitely a case of quality over quanity; it had a much more personal atmosphere than larger meets as Steve and his knowledgable staff were present to socialize with the attendees and patrons. Josh Biggers, the marketing manager, was nice enough to give me a tour of the back area where Steve Millen's legendary 300zx IMSA racecar #75 is stored and showed me the other projects that are currently under development, though I am not allowed to take pictures of them.
