GMG Racing No. 33 Lamborghini LP 570-4 SuperTrofeo Race Car - Bruce & Burt Jenner
SANTA ANA, Calif. (August 16, 2013)- Following a victory sweep at the opening round of the all-new North American Lamborghini Super Trofeo Series, GMG will enter this weekend’s second round at Kansas Speedway with another three-car lineup.
Headlining the GMG trio will be drivers Bruce and Burt Jenner. While many may recognize the father and son duo from Bruce’s exploits as both an Olympic gold medalist as well as one of the stars of E! Entertainment’s Keeping up with the Kardashians, the fellow Southern Californian is also an accomplished driver. Having driven in a number of GT categories over the years, Jenner is a veteran of The Rolex 24 at Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring, and a number of other professional sports car events. Most notably, Bruce took a victory in the 12 Hours of Sebring with co-driver Scott Pruett in 1986.
Burt Jenner, the oldest of Bruce’s sons, is no stranger to motorsports himself. A contestant in Ford’s prestigious Octane Academy, airing on NBC Sports, Burt looks forward to showcasing his talent in a high-performance vehicle.
Splitting duties during this weekend’s double-header, the Jenner duo looks forward to representing their No. 33 Forgiato Tire Lamborghini well on the track.
“I’m really looking forward to this weekend,” stated series newcomer Burt Jenner. “The GMG guys have done a great job familiarizing us with the series and these are gorgeous cars to race. I really appreciate what everyone at Forgiato Tire has done to get us here.”
“It’s great to get back behind the wheel,” claimed Bruce Jenner. “The series has done a great job with its presentation and level of professionalism, and I’m looking forward to putting on a good show for everyone. Forgiato Tire and GMG clearly have a great program here and I’m very eager to get on with it.”
Not to be outdone, returning to the team will be Tom O’Gara and Parris Mullins. Rejoining in the No. 69 machine in their debut, the duo look to further improve on their eighth-place finish.
“We really enjoyed our Lime Rock experience, so it’s great to be back,” stated Parris Mullins. “I feel like we made a solid debut in our first event and we’d like to come into this weekend knowing that our experience will carry over.”
“GMG, and everyone at Lamborghini Beverly Hills, did great at the first event and I expect our second one to run even better,” continued O’Gara. “Kansas Speedway is a very different track from Lime Rock, but it should be very fast and very fun.”
Finally, rounding the GMG lineup will be team owner James Sofronas and Lawrence Holden. Holden is new to the series, and while Sofronas has run several tests for the car at the Thermal Club, he will also be making his series debut.
“What a great series,” stated Sofronas. “It’s great to have Bruce and Burt join us this weekend; they’ve already added a lot of buzz to the series. Bruce’s experience should prove invaluable, and Burt’s experience with the Octane Academy should be instrumental as well. Tom and Parris have been a big part of our involvement in the series from the beginning, so we’re hoping to deliver even stronger, and Lawrence is always a great teammate. The guys have all been busy getting prepared for this event and we’re ready.”
Round Three of the championship will take place today at 9:30PM ET with the second round taking place tomorrow at 1:20PM.
